•The first laser hair removal company in Texas to buy and operate an IPL in Texas. Bought in July 1997.
•One of the first laser hair removal companies in Texas to buy and operate an alexandrite laser in October of 1997.
•We were the first laser hair removal company in Texas to use a diode laser. We did it as a test for Palomar, one of the major manufacturers of cosmetic lasers, in the summer of 1998. We subsequently bought that laser system.
•One of the first laser hair removal companies in Texas to buy a ND-YAG laser, bought in 2000.
•The only laser hair removal company in Texas that has owned and operated every known technology for laser hair removal.
•We have performed over 500,000 treatments. This is the largest number of treatments performed by any one laser hair removal company in Texas.
•We were the first laser hair removal company in Texas to institute an in-house training program for all technicians and managers.
•The founder of Smooth Solutions led the successful fight to defeat Rule 193.11 that was passed by the Texas Medical Board in 2004. This rule would have created a monopoly for physicians and have driven up the prices. As a result of our efforts, many others in the State of Texas can offer laser hair removal without interference from the Medical Board.
•The founder of Smooth Solutions, as President of the Texas Association for Laser Regulation and Education (TACLER), has led the efforts in the Texas legislature to pass regulation that would protect the right of all Texans to have safe and affordable laser hair removal. This legislation was recently adopted as the model legislation that is being proposed in multiple states across the country.
